Continental Divide Trail, 2013

2013 was a year of change. I quit my job in Texas to hike the CDT and ultimately move back to Michigan. The CDT was a tremendous undertaking. It challenged me mentally and physically day after day, but it was also the most rewarding thing I have done so far in my life.

The CDT defines the term Hike Your Own Hike. It is more of a suggestion of routes rather than a well established trail, such as the AT or PCT. I hiked with my good friend Qball, and it took us 110 days to traverse roughly 2,600 miles from Canada to Mexico. It is an adventure that I will hold close to my heart for as long as I live. The beauty I experienced in the landscape and wildlife were unmatched. The Dividie is a wild place, full of secrets and adventure to those willing to endure the trek.

You can read the blog of my journey on postholer.com, where I also have my AT journal located:

In addition, enjoy the video I put together of the trek. It explains the trail much better than anything I could put in writing.

Part 1: Montana/Idaho, Wyoming

Part 2: Colorado
