Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

In mid June of 2011, Carolyn and I set off to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to check out the shoreline of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It took around 7 hours to get there from just outside of Detroit, but it was well worth all of that driving. Simply stated, there is no other place quite like it. The rock cliffs that fall strait into the turquoise waters of Lake Superior is a site to behold. We backpacked along the shoreline for a few short days, but the splendor of the area left us wanting more. This is a place I hope to explore further someday.
